Meet Steve Leblanc
My name is Steve, and I come from a family of builders in Gaspésie. Construction has always been a part of my life, a tradition passed down through generations. My wife, Katia, and I have been together for 33 years; we met in high school and have shared an incredible journey together. We have two wonderful children: our daughter Emy, born in 2002, and our son Mikael, born in 2005.
Family means everything to me, and I take great pride in being actively involved in my kids’ lives. I have always supported Emy in her cheerleading career, and it was a proud moment when she competed in the world championships in Florida. With Mikael, I cherish our snowboarding trips, mountain biking adventures, and enduro cross outings. These experiences have created lasting memories and strengthened our bond.
One of our most memorable adventures was a cross-country trip from Montreal to Whistler and back, in a newly purchased 1978 Westfalia that I had renovated. This journey not only allowed us to explore beautiful parts of Canada but also gave us a unique opportunity to experience the open road together in a vehicle that I had lovingly restored. It was an incredible experience that deepened our appreciation for adventure and craftsmanship.
My enthusiasm lies in unique projects that showcase my commitment to quality craftsmanship. A standout undertaking was the concrete swimming pool I designed. I initially drew the concept on a napkin and secretly began excavating a large hole in the backyard without informing Katia. When she first encountered the project, she was skeptical, but ultimately, she was impressed by the outcome. Some might say I had a bit of luck with that one, haha! Furthermore, I’ve worked on various DIY stamped concrete initiatives, such as a 20×30 patio at our current residence. A memorable moment was when I collaborated with my whole family, including my 75-year-old mom, to create a concrete countertop. These personal milestones are moments I treasure, and I eagerly anticipate embarking on more thrilling projects with the LeBlancs.
